Exhibit Design
AFH Design collaborated with the owner to redesign and refurbish the Japanese Macaque habitat, a netted exhibit constructed for 10 to 15 animals. The design included a more complex, naturalistic climbing structure for the animals, and a large, simulated hollow log that allows visitors to “enter” the habitat space and have eye to eye encounters with the Macaque through a variety of port holes and acrylic domes.
The interpretive package focuses on social aspects of Macaque troupes, communication, including vocalizations and facial expression and general conservation messages.
