AFH Design, LLC provided a full suite of interpretive design services to the Henri Vilas Zoo for the thrilling new Arctic Passage exhibit. The process began with a series of meetings with staff to determine the educational messages, themes and activities to present to visitors. AFH expertly facilitated discussions, bringing the Zoo’s goals to reality.
After fleshing out the main message, a detailed program emerged leading to unique designs for species identification, informational graphics, both mechanical and electronic interactive interpretive elements, way finding, donor recognition and even branding and signage for a major new restaurant adjacent to the exhibit. AFH’s expertise in the selection of the color and material pallets and their consistent use ensured that the interpretive elements and signage unified the complex, multi-species exhibit.
AFH was able to quickly respond to the owner’s needs, and successfully delivered clear, precise bidding documents that lead to competitive bidding between a number of qualified fabricators, ensuring that the Zoo received the very best quality at the best price.
