Entrance Visitor Experience
Cali Zoo
Cali, Colombia
The Cali Zoo entry plaza was designed to be a welcoming, functional space for receiving guests. The Zoo’s brand is displayed prominently, including the colors and logo of the institution. The space was carefully designed as a transition between the nearby urban environment and the Zoo. With the completion of the project, the Zoo now has an effective and attractive ticket and membership sales area, turnstiles, and a custom designed, retractable mesh perimeter barrier that easily moves into place to secure the Zoo at closing time.
A highly themed theater represents a leaf cutter ant colony, complete with giant ant sculptures and themed concrete resembling the dirt mound that is home to these fascinating creatures. A retail shop is integrated into the entrance area, along with lush tropical plantings and simulated petroglyphs carved into the pavement.
