Interpretation
The Bio Observatory project involved the master plan of an eco-tourism center and zoo near the Resguardo Nazareth territory in the Colombian Amazon. Visitors to the Bio Observatory will be able to experience first hand the way of life in the Amazon basin. The Bio Observatory includes an ecohotel, multi-purpose hall and other authentic structures by people from the surrounding communities.
At the Bio Observatory, visitors are immersed in the local flora and fauna.
Visitors experience the animals and plants of the Amazon as they stroll along elevated walkways, viewing spacious mixed species exhibits. An important element of the Bio Observatory experience is the opportunity for visitors to experience wild and free range animals along with the mixed species exhibits. The Bio Observatory’s adventure zone incorporates paths across primary jungle habitat, leading to a forest canopy observation tower where it is possible to observe and marvel at the dimension of “Amazonia.”
